  • getting out of L.A.

Last week I posted my problem with my 1950 land cruiser stuck at the shippers terminal in LA. Finally, they admitted that they toasted the 6volt battery with jumper cables. They replaced it with a new battery and my car is now at Horizon lines to be shipped to Hawaii
Will arrive 7/24. many thanks from this new member to stude rich and jim.

Good that they owned up to their mistake.

Have fun with your new toy when it arrives.

Check for burned out light bulbs and/or regulator and generator, too. It could start and run on a new battery, and still have electrical damage caused by mis-applied booster cables. Don't sign off on the "received in good order" part until you have checked those parts at least.

I hope they knew it was a positive ground system.

From my tel-con with Bob, I did learn that they did figure out it is a Positive ground in time to install the new Battery correctly, just not sure at what point they did learn that!
