  • Oil canister tightness '48 Commander

How much should you tighten the oil filter canister lid on an F-4 type canister? Previous over-tightening has caused a substantial leak out the lid. Is it like a spin-on where minimal is enough? Obviously a bolt down lid is different, but how much is enough?

    Thanks.

There should be a new rubber gasket with every filter and, yes, minimal should be enough.
