I have a 1955 champion and I am trying to remove the automatic shift lever from the column. The steering wheel is already off and I see that the shift lever seems to be connected to the column by a pin which I, presumably, should be able to pound out. Problem is the pin doesn't budge.
So, is my presumption correct (that the pin needs to be removed) and if so, what is the trick?
