I could be wrong, but I think that is an oversize in TEN THOUSANDS of an inch (10, 15, etc)

Studebaker was one of the few companies that fitted the pistons to the block.

In any case, if I were you, I would measure the bore and taper to see if the cylinders have been over bored in the past and to determine if just a hone and (the correct size) rings will be OK.

Numbers stamped on block at cylinders?

I did a search, but wasn't able to find my answer.

I have a 1949 2R5 truck. Champion engine, 6 cyl.. At each cylinder there is a number stamped. Five of the cylinders have a number 1 stamped on them and one cylinder has what looks like 1 5 stamped. Do those numbers have any meaning? I need to order rings and I want to be sure I am ordering the right parts. FYI (The engine was painted burnt orange, not green. I was told in the past that it might be a Studebaker Reman engine. The engine # is 1R32892)

    Thanks for any help.
