Im starting to work on my avanti after a long lapse.Sprayed de-greaser on block and ckecked numbers pad.It is block RS1896 witha keystone stamped on the block.I have not heard about a keystone being stamped on a block before. Does any one else have any info about this? Thanks.

In our last post about these, I believe it was the consensus of opinion that they had to be random (as in one of a Hundred or whatever) Inspection stamps for a full casting inspection of some kind, and no one could prove that with documentation one way or the other.

It definitely has no real significance as to anything about the engine deferring from any other.

Interesting. I found a keystone on my 41 Champion and just figured some shop had put it on there since the car came from PA. It never occurred to me to look it up here.
