what would happen 12 battery in 6 volt system

It would probably run for about a half an hour. Then your points would burn and you'd have too weak a spark to stay running. All your lights would burn out as soon as they came on. I guess your generator and regulator would fry. So just change all your bulbs and coil. And put a GM alternator on it with a built in regulator. And just run your heater motor and wiper motor on low.
