Does anyone know of a good tranny shop in socal that is good with the Flightomatic and reasonably priced? Thanks in advance.

I used to know of a shop in Long Beach or thereabouts. The name of the shop was C&M or G&M or some combination of letters like that. I was told they'd do a FOM for around $500 if you removed and reinstalled it.
BTW, if this is for your 63 6cylinder, your tranny's different than what most of us deal with. For the 63-4 6cyl cars, Studebaker used the aluminum case T-35. They still called it a Flight-o-matic but it's nothing like the cast iron FOMs behind V8s and earlier 6s.

Thanks for the info guys. I have no idea what the state of the transmission is. So, rather than getting the car back together and having the thrill of driving two blocks and have it go haywire.. better to do a bit of preemptive work.
