This is a follow up to a post last week. I pulled the transmission apart earlier this week. I could find no differences between the blocking ring for either 2nd or high. Actually, there didn't appear to be wear any place inside the unit. The spring that holds those little plates under the synchronizers seemed to be out of place. Well I got it all back together and then held the output shaft with a wrench. I rotated the input shaft and tried to shift into 2nd or high. In both cases, when I started to shift, I couldn't turn the input shaft as soon as the block collar moved toward the gear. Seems to be what it should do. So now, I'll put in new gear oil and put it back in the car - once I finish rebuilding the engine.
