    when did studebaker starting using alts?1962 or 1963

    if i convert to a one wire alt do i need a voltage reg?

    what brand did stude use? ford,gm.chrysler?

    does the studes use horn relays or any other relays?

    Depends on what model you have, Hawk/Lark use a Honda alt, Avanti R1
    use a GM alt, and I dont recall the R2 swap info ... look here :

      you can go to a one wire easily and it just runs a large wire from your battery positive to battery post on alt. or you can save some money and hook a normal gm alt. run a heavy wire from you battery postive to your battery term of your alt, then on your plug into your alt you have a F terminal Field tie that into your battery terminal of your alt too, the on your Regulator term marked R run another wire that is only hot when the key is in the run position. will work great and save you 50 bucks. and if you ever have an issue you can get another at any parts store.
