  • Possibly lowest-price P195/75R15 WSW Radials

While browsing the new Hemmings Motor News, I ran across what are probably the lowest-price P195/75R15 WSW radials for those needing them: $118 apiece. Not cheap, but less than any I've seen lately.

    They're available from Universal Tire:

    Or (800) 233-3827

The brand is American Classic Radials. The 1" whitewall width is set out from the rim with a black band between the wheel and the inside edge of the white portion. These tires would be considered correct for 1962-1966 Studebakers, although some 1962 and 1963 models had an odd narrow whitewall that was against the wheel rim.

Their website conflicts with their print ad on Page 591 of the May 2009 Hemmings Motor News. The information above is from the Hemmings ad, but the website says the tires are $126 with a 3/4" whitewall, some so grinding or clarification may be needed! BP

Is my memory playing tricks on me? I probably should start researching my answers on the Forum <G>.
I thought that 1962 Studebakers had about a 2-2.5 inch whitewall starting at the rim. 1963 Larks and Cruisers (not 1962) used the one inch whitewall starting at the rim. These tires mentioned would be the correct whitewall for use on 1964-1966 Studebakers and probably acceptable for 1963.

True Dave - but remember the topic was about "Stock" tire types!
