Rear quarter windows rubber

Was looking my rear quarter windows ('53 Starlight Coupe) and they seem to be spot welded together. How the rubber seals replaced? I'm guessing I would grind the spot welds off. How should they be reassembled?

On a coupe, (remove the window from the body) then... you drill out the rivets that hold the window to the hinges.. and the rivets that hold the closure clip to the surround.
Then, the window can be removed and the rubber replaced (after re-painting of course)...
Reinstall new rivets... and put the window back in.

Thanks, I should have put on my glasses. What I thought were spot welds are rivets.

Stainless steel pop rivets will work. I thought about using tiny machine screws and nuts but ended up using pop rivets instead for clearance reasons. You only have to remove the four that hold the hinges to the frame and I think two that hold the catch to the frame.

BTW those window surrounds came in several different flavors; there were stainless, chromed steel, and painted steel. Obviously stainless is more desirable. If you have extras laying around you might as well pick out two stainless ones and swap them in while you have 'em apart.

SI has the original chrome rivets available but they want $1 a piece.
I pop-riveted the hinges and got the chrome ones for the latch. They are the only ones you can see.

I believe they were barrel rivets. I had no problem rolling them, starting with light taps on a short center punch and a final peen with a flat punch. I've heard others who start their roll with a ball bearing and a Vise-grip.

MMM...Maybe the rivets in my latches are not original (mine were two eared stainless that bent over opposite each other (like a brad on a manilla evelope). That would explain why the rubber looked and felt so new.
