The 1 Ton C-Cab trucks could be ordered with a 9 foot pickup box.

Did Studebaker build the flat beds? The ones I've seen are about 12' or so. But I imagine someone else built the bed. Grain trucks, too.

        BobG.,
Studebaker had a long standing relationship with the Edwards Iron Works. They supplied flat beds, dump beds, wrecker bodies and various other things including the early '40's coupe with pickup bed conversion (Dick Quinn used to have a beautiful example of one of these). Another local supplier was Stanley. If a Stude left South Bend with something other than a chassis or pickup box, it probably came from either of these local companies.. Also If I remember correctly Edwards Iron Works was the company that sent Studebaker into recievership.
