  • Water pump rebuilder in Arizona?

I've got a Champion water pump that I need to have rebuilt, and I'm looking for someone who can rebuild my specific one, rather than take mine in as a core and send me a different rebuilt one. The reason is that it has been modified a bit to fit into a CJ2A Jeep (specifically, the flange where the pulley and fan bolt on has been pressed back an inch or so). Does anyone know of some one in the Phoenix area who could rebuild this piece? Failing that, anyone nationwide who I could send it to? I just got off the phone with Studebaker International, and they apparently send theirs off in large batches, and can't have an individual one done.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately, Superior Pump is no longer in business, and their phone line has been disconnected. According to my local Napa guys, they had a big fire, or some other building-related problem.

If thats true about Superior Pump, too bad. They moved from Gardena California just a few years ago to Arizona. Their workmanship was always first rate. when was the fire & are they rebuilding & reopening? I hope so.

I am very sad to hear that Warren. The old gent that owned both Co's. ran the Hawthorne, CA factory on Crenshaw Blvd. and they treated me right. I heard they closed it a few years back but still had the AZ one. I even got rebuilt Eaton Power Steering pumps from their Phoenix Factory, they had the BEST workmanship and service.
