    Orphan Axle - 25-27 Dictator?

    Hello,
I thought someone might be able to help in the identification of an "orphan" axle.

The axle was bought years ago as a fit for an old Marmon 68. It was obvious when received that this was not a match. I have tried over the years to identify the axle and find the rest of the car that could use it.

Recently a gentleman on the AACA forum stated that with the axle ratio (ring 46 teeth, pinion 11 teeth, axle length 30 3/4 inches) a match would be a 1925-27 Studebaker Dictator. However, he said the axle length should be 30 3/8 versus my axle book states the length as 30 3/4.

I have photos and drawings with the markings found in various locations. However, I do not believe I can attach these to messages in this form. If anyone could identify the rear axle of a 1925-27 Dictator from a photo and is willing to help, I will send this additional info.

I would greatly appreciate any help, even other contacts who might be able to help.

    Thanks
    Geoff
