  • Fuel System: R2 Fuel pump ideas

My R2 fuel pump finally bit the big one and is dead. I guess I have two choices rebuild or replace. I know Fairborn is using high flo Mopars to replace the now non-existent R series pumps. I put on one my R1 but had to but a regulator on as it had too much pressure. So wondering what others have done - electric or ?

Why not just rebuild it? Then & Now Automotive has good kits that are ethanol resistant, or Dave Theibault rebuilds them also I believe.

Try to rebuild it,I had my r2 go bad so I bought a replacement from one of our vendors and it now starves for fuel. I believe the arm is bent to much because I have a flow through electric pump that I have to turn on when pulling a long hill. Normal driving it works fine. Try to rebuild yourself first.

You need to specify WHICH "Replacement" Pump you got, a Real Carter modified from a Mopar or a Standard Pump (,Airtex junk) ?
There should be No problems with a Carter, Did you return it?.

Return it if the pressure is Low. but it MUST have a working "Reference Line" to the Blower from the Top of the Fuel Pump and also the Pump VENT must be Sealed.
    Working...
