float level height

Were can I find the float level measurement for a 53 commander?

Well, the '53 shop manual describes it on Gasoline section, page 21, but says to use Gage No. J5475, no dimension given.

This is where you find it, but you gotta have a gage. Hope someone comes along with a dimension.

The later models, as well as some other makes that use the WW ,call for 3/16" as that dimension so I would try that.

OR... you could buy a repair kit, because you will need the Gaskets anyway AND they come with the float gauge!
