    I could write a book about freeze plugs...
    The Dorman ones work best if you take them apart and insert a brake hose copper sealing washer to take up some inner slop.
    The shallow cup ones can be used also Dorman 565-077 (brass). I let the clean block sit overnight to dry out and then also use a little JB weld on them.
    The BEST ones are the genuine screw center service replacements; can't understand why nobody hasn't mentioned them. These are superior to all the others but will only work if your block's inner "ridge" is still in good shape. Also use plenty of sealer on ALL the parts of them.
    They are a touch expensive and can be hard to find. 1562875
