For those who have Avantis with the glass bowl consider doing this:
Rather than having to deal with the thumb screw and filter removal, install an in line 3/8 filter inline with the fuel pump outlet line.....now you should put in a new filter inside the bowl, but this will be the last time you will ever have to do this. The inline gas filter is good for at leat 12K miles.
