  • Wheels / Tires: 1948 Commander rim width

I recently bought a 1948 Commander , it has aftermarket wheels spaced with washers on it which I don't like, I have the stock wheels as well, what is the width of the stock Commander rims which still have very old bias ply tires on them which is why I haven't been able to measure the width, they seem much wider than the 4 1/2" wide rims that were on my Larks

They should be 6 inch if they are stock.

Thank you, when I tried to measure them with the tires on they seemed to be 6 inch but I thought that seemed wide for a Studebaker and they are the stock rims for the car.

It is wide, but the tires on a 50 commander, the last year that the car used those wheels, were 7.60 X 15. Pretty big tires.
