    I have to replace the drivers side door window. Any suggestions?

    Get some Elbow height Gloves or Tape up the edges of the steel inner Panel around the excess hole. Otherwise YOU will be a bloody mess.

      If you have the Shop Manual, that's a big help; more than any of us here could.
      Then just have your local auto glass shop cut new glass.

        Which car? If it is a hawk I have complete windows with the frame available.

          While it is out, R&R the rollers, grease the channels and gear mechanism good, and oil all pivot points. This will insure smooth operation.

            I was advised that the vent window should be removed first. Your thoughts!

              That's a yes. MUST be removed, rather than should. Shop Manual says the same.

                I recently reinstalled the door windows and I found it easier for me to reinstall by sliding the driver's window into the wing window frame and install them as a unit. It's kind of unwieldy, but it worked for me. I believe I also removed them that way. Get help to prevent damage.
