  • 1962 Hawk Tach

I'm tryng to get things finished on the Hawk for the upcoming Tour Season. The Tach does not have any wires connected to it other than the ground wire and the dash light.

The sending unit is missing completely. Does anyone have a spare sending unit they would be willing to get rid of?

Also,I need to know where the two wires hook up to the tachometer head. Looking at the back of the head, there are two posts, left and right, referencing the dash light hole being on top and the ground connection being at the bottom. Using the North Carolina SDC Tach diagram, there is a white wire and a Yellow (white) wire. Where do these go.

Also, how can I test the Tach head to make sure it is working, without having it hooked up to the sending unit?

    Thanks

Repro sending units are sold by Studebaker international. Yellow wire goes to brass post. (passenger side) Swing the tach in your hand to see if it moves smoothly is a good sign.
