  • jack/support points on 50 Champion front end

When you jack up the front end on a 1950 Champion, where should you place a floor jack? For that matter, where do you place jack stands once its jacked up? Some parts of the frame bend under the weight. For instance, the metal plates welded onto the bottom of the frame rails with holes in them tend to bend up.
    All advice is appreciated.

I always put a 6 or 8 inch piece of soft (pine/spruce) 2X4 between the jack and the frame. On the front end, in the center of the front crossmember. There is a forging there that is the bottom of the center steering pivot. Lift there, put jack stands under the inner lower A frame arms. This keeps the weight of the car the same as it would be on the ground.
