  • Brakes: If you're waiting for back ordered truck wheel cylinders.......!

Rear brake cylinders are 3-6 months away. My 53' has front (1 in) cylinders out back. I caused a leak due to needing washers for fronts, not backs. If the wait is as long as they suggest...... how about plumbing in 2 front brake hoses to the rear axle and keep the current set up of 2 1 inch fronts hoping for no fast stops ???!!!

Woiuldn’t it be easier to press in a tube seat? It is easy to remove the tube seat from the old wheel cylinder using a self tapping screw and prying under the head with a couple of flat bladed screwdrivers.

It should be pointed out that the front and rear cylinders for your ‘59 are the ones used on late’55 through ‘62 1/2 ton pickups. Earlier 1/2 tons used different cylinders.
