Starter ID question?

I knew that the auto and manual trany ones were different. I've swapped the noses and interchanged them before. I just wasn't sure about the 6 and 8cyl differences. I've also seen red or blacked tagged delco starters.

If it bolts up and works on a V-8 Stick or Automatic, then that is what it is! [:0]

Std., Auto, 6 Cyl. and V-8 all four are different, and none will bolt up to the wrong setup.

All Standard shift V-8 Trucks from '57 to 1961 use a Delco Starter, Stude. part number 1539580.

I would have a generator/starter shop rebuild that one, the internals are common to GM Cars & Trucks.

The starter in my 59 3E13 is a Delco Remy # 1107900 1C10.
Is been working fine for years. Its now getting tired. [:0] Is it even a V/8 starter? What year is it?
