  • Cam Lube

I,ve got my crank installed in my .020 289 and am awaiting an end play shim. I went ahead and installed the camshaft. Since it might be awile before the engine is started I have a question on cam lubes. I have a bottle of Melling lube but it is way too thin and would have run off long before the engine is ever fired up. I purchased a cartridge of high pressure moly/graphite grease and lubed the cam lobes [Lubriplate assembly lube on the bearing surfaces]. Should I remove this stuff and get some thicker designated Cam Lube or will it be OK? Thanks all,
