289 R1 rebuilt as an R2?

    Hi, John,

    The truck heads were used on the R2. Depending on whether or not they've been surfaced, the compression should be the standard R2 9.0.

      I think the answer here really is someone needs to cc these custom builds to see what we actually have, as John (okc63avanti) suggested! [^]

      On Joe's setup with shallow dish pistons and R1 high comp. heads WITH porting and big valves, I think I would have used flat top pistons as the Comp. on that setup could be too low!

      I definitely would NOT use Truck (R2) low Comp. heads AND Shallow Dish approx. 9.0 (with R1 Heads) Pistons, as you will be around 7.5 or 8.0, and if that was the goal, it's way cheaper to just use Std. 289 8.5 Pistons! [:0]
