I don't think there is a Fame or a Frame involved here.
I got this PM from Paul that makes NO sense, must be from a Smart Phone with Spell Check:
"frame size = package size of solenoid 1956 car" ... WHAT "Frame" WHAT "Package"?
Do you Posters think maybe Paul, (63looks 59) means the Round CASE of his '56 Solenoid is LONGER?
Probably it's a different Brand or for a different Make Car with a Borg Warner or even a "Other Brand" Overdrive, and if the "Throw" of the Plunger is the same, should work, the length of the Case or Housing should not matter?StudeRich

The case size is irrelevant. What is important is the length and throw of the plunger. And both have to be 12 volts.
Measure the length of both plungers in retracted position. They must be the same as each other.
Now energize the solenoid measure the length of the plungers in extended position. They must be the same as each other.Last edited by RadioRoy; 03-04-2021, 12:45 PM.RadioRoy, specializing in AM/FM conversions with auxiliary inputs for iPod/satellite/CD player.
