  • Engine: R-2 carburetor bonnet Question

I have 2 r-2 carb.air bonnets ,both with the curved nose inlet. For a carter AFB carb. One has a divider down the middle and the other is open with NO divider. Both are ORIGINAL and have not been altered, maybe there was a second design made in 1963. Any thoughts?

So by "Curved Nose Inlet", you mean they have a 45 degree angled Supercharger end round portion, making them Lark/Hawk, not Avanti?

So, technically it would be a JTS not an R2. I believe the late style is the divided type. Avantis had two different styles also. Some without the vent screen, and some with. Just like the air cleaners. Late models had "snouts" to get cooler air away from hot exhaust manifolds.
