GranTurismo rear fender on to earlier C/K model?

  • Body / Glass: GranTurismo rear fender on to earlier C/K model?

    I know they are different part numbers.
    What is the significant difference between the GT rear fenders and the '53-'61 stampings?

    Look on the very top/rear of the fender, where the taillight housing meets the fender.

      Yes, the tail light area is slightly different. I put one on a '53 decades ago but grafted a small part of the original fender from around the tail light into the replacement fender to make it fit properly with the trim and light.

        The raised portion at the very top of the fender, where the stainless strip is, does not go all of the way to the back for 1953 - 1961 and does extend straight back to the taillight for 1962 - 1964. The fenders can be modified in either direction.

          So with minimal cutting and welding it can be made to work!
