  • 63 Wagonaire Rear Bumper Guard

I have spent many hours looking around the forum and I have not seen any other Wagonaires with the same rear bumper guard as my wifes. I'm a blind or is it something different?

That bumper and license plate surround is off an older Lark wagon. My 60 has it.

That is interesting because it is a one owner car that has been sitting since 1972. I guess the original owner thought it looked cool.

It could very well have come like that from the DEALER. They would install pretty much anything on a car (technically correct or not) to make a sale.
I would guess it is very likely the owner requested it at the time of purchase. OR the car was lightly hit at some point and a used bumper assembly installed.

The bumper appears to be correct. The bumperette in the center is not correct. There should be two small verticle bumperettes with license plate lights in them.
There were also front and rear optional bumper ends (Winguards) available.

Can you see the dip-down in the center of the bumper Gary?
If you do you have better eye or monitor than I! It looks like a straight '59-'60 bumper complete with the wrong for '63 license guard.

Except, with a '63 non-wrap-around bumper with a flat "dip-down" section in the center to match the body line and the Front Bumper. [^]

Rich - You are correct, that is the incorrect bumper bar as well as the bumperette.
I was concentrating on the ends, noting that they are not wrap around, like on the '64-'66 posted.
