Check ACCEL P/N 2030. That's a kit to install photo optical triggering mechanism in the Chrysler Autolite distributor(same as Stude ). If you have the single point Autolite in your Stude the pertronix kit cannot be made to work. It fits only the dual point Avanti type distributor or the Delco distributor. It will not work in the IBP-4108 Autolite.

I think Bill Cathcart sells a rebuilt distributor converted to Pertronix. I bought one for my Champion Six, and he may sell them for V8s too. Check his ad in Turning Wheels to see.

Boy, Phil Harris gets around. He used to be on the Jack Benny show.

It would be better...if you put the module "inside" the distrubutor rather than "on" the distributor..!
Sorry...just following Anne's lead...

Jason, I and some Studebaker vendors stock these Pertronix conversion kits, they are easier than installing new points to install.
I just happen to have the early Delco '56-'59 V-8 and '60 Hawk kits for that distributor you have, in stock! Also the Pertronix 40,000 volt coil that works good with it.
I also stock the Pertronix kit for the single point '62-'64 V-8 Prestolite Dist. that Kenmike2 says is not available. [:0]
