Do you have a 59-64 chassis parts book? It will have exploded views of all mechanical systems, including engine and brakes. Available in reprint or CD from several vendors. Originals come up on ebay all the time.

If your brakes have the lever riding on a fine toothed Starwheel with the wires attached, it must be from a '63 or newer and if your Engine number falls within the '62 engine number range then it is from a '62.

I don't know of any Studes. that used CABLES to adjust the brakes! [:0]

    Self adjusting brakes

Hey Studies, I have a 47 M-5 that has a '62 Lark 259 V8. Front backing plates & brakes adapted I believe are Stude. The brakes are self adjusting, two thin wires for adjusting mech instead of cable. Are these '62 brakes? I read Stude did not have self adj. brakes till '63. Did some '62 have self adj? The block # say motor is '62.
