Rear axel wondering...

  • Transmission: Rear axel wondering...

    Is it possible to see what brand "& so on" of rear axel this is? It's a tapered axel.

    Looks like a Dana axle, but can't tell what size. Do you think the axle is not the original axle that came in the car?

      I'd also look to see if it's a tapered or flanged at the wheels and the diameter of the shaft housing like 2 1/2 or 3 inches.

        Thanx Bob! So it's a Dana 30.
        Nobody knows if it's the original axel, he had one more at the same time for a while & swapped parts + both cars were a bit in parts.
        He also have one more axel, this one is not complete & we will have to look into what to do with this one.
