    What is the settings for a dual point distributor 1963 One manual says 014--019 for each set of points with 39 degree dwell .Another says 015-018 each with a total of 32 degree dwell.. ???? Also spark plug gap at 033 to 038 It is a Prestolite distributor THANKS

    It depends on whether you have the long or short arm points. Long arm points (1.25") had a recommended dwell of .027-031, while short arm points (1") would be .022-026.

        Someone here will Post the "Service Letter" Info that clarifies that Dual Point Prestolite setting, there were errors in the Original Shop Manual Printing.

        Those numbers may be the "One Set Blocked" Single Point Dwell.

            Service Letter J-1963-11, 3/11/63, calls for 0.019" gap, 22-26 individual dwell and 32-36 combined dwell. This is for the "new" one inch breaker points.

              Sorry for any confusion. Studebaker introduced a new, shorter point set during the '63 model year. Here is the service letter:
