  • Rear Axle: 64 lark tt rear end compatible to hawk?

What twin grip rear ends came in 64 hawks? And are the rear ends the same from a 64 lark cruiser, or different?

Both should be Dana 44s, so they will swap. Good luck.

The Ratio Tag on the Left Lower of the rear cover at about 8:00 will tell you if the Ratio is compatible with your Transmission Type and type of driving.

Unless the '64 Lark Type was factory equipped with a 289 Engine, it will not have a Model 44 Dana.
      A Cruiser Originally WAS a 289, 56 Years ago.
On the Right side Web, between the Right Axle Tube and the "Pumpkin" will be a Raised "27" or "44" in the Casting.

A Studebaker/Dana Limited Slip Axle is a (TT), Twin Traction.

The rear track on both is 56-9/16 as well, so the whole rear axle should be a direct swap.

Are you 100 percent sure it is a TT? The 3.31 is by far the most common ratio, with 3.54 being the scarcest. I bought a 3.54 TT, with Avanti tabs for traction bars/anti-sway bars less than a year ago for $300. I'd say you're 3.31, if model 44, TT, oughta bring $250-$300, if right time and right person comes along.

It’s got the tags that say 331 and twin traction rear end.. it’s out of a 64 lark cruiser. Has the 44 stamped on pumpkin.

I have swapped one from a hawk to a lark. Only difference is the e-brake cable length
