  • Ignition: 1951 6 cylinder auto lite distributor

I have converted my 51 Champion to 12 volts negative ground and now I want to convert the ignition away from points to electronic. What module is best to use? I have an autolite distributor and a 6 cylinder engine.

Welcome to the SDC and to the SDC Forum Boyce!

    (1) You need to Know if the Autolite nameplate says it is a: IAT or IGW Model Autolite Dist.

    (2) Then you need to call Phil Harris at Fairborn Studebaker NINE 3 Seven 878 1576 and he will get you the Correct 12 Volt Negative Gnd. Pertronix Kit for your '51 Champion 169 Six, like no one else or ANY "Website" can.

"Other" Studebaker Parts are here: http://studebakervendors.com
