    We are about ready to put the grease seals in the font hubs. I have looked in the manual and can't find any info on orientation. Does it matter if the flat side of the metal housing is out as shown on the left or should the lip be out as shown on the right.

    The one on the left is correct.

      I think he's using the old style felt seals Roy, they have no obvious lip or anything indicating the inside so the question is reasonable if you haven't installed hundreds of seals as many of us have. Either type seal, the flat side faces out, like the left drum in the pic.

        Yes, they are felt type seals. Thanks for the responses. Flat side out it is.
