  • Interior: Radio support arm, 1955 Commander

Can someone sketch or send a picture of the support mechanism fot the radio in a 55 Commander sedan. The front is held in place by the dial and switch shafts and nuts. The rear part needs support, I can improvise and design my own but I'd prefer to have the original
    thanks

There are two sheet metal-type screws that come up from the bottom of the dashboard rail. They go into the pemnuts on the speaker chassis.

Does your sedan have the wraparound windshield of later cars, or the so-called "flat" windshield of earlier cars?

If you have the wrap around windshield, the radio is configured differently for those cars. The tab that mounts the speaker/amplifier chassis mounts at a different angle to the tuner chassis than the earlier radio does. The earlier radio will not fit properly in the later sedans/wagons.

Is your sedan the early flat windshield or the later wrap around windshield?

What is the AC number or the S number of the radio you are installing?

If you are asking about the zig-zag arms that attach the rear of the tuner to the bottom of the speaker/amplifier chassis, they are clearly shown in this eBay auction picture, auction number 372804354439

Those zig-zag arms are the same for all 53-55 Studebaker radios.
