  • heater motor

am rebuilding a heater system for my 53 Commander HT which has been converted to 12v. The motor I have (6V) doesn't run well at 6V and sort-of at 12V and gets hot at either speed.
I have opened it up and clean out a lot of loose dust, etc nd put a little trombone oil on the shaft where it passes thru the housing an where it rests at the other end.
I see SASCO has a heater motor for all 56-58 cars. (#1542244) Will this motor fit the housing and ahaft receieve he squirel cage blower for my 53?, The part for the 53 heater is #532872.
    I have a volt-a-drop for 12v to 6v so could use a 6V but would prefer a 12V.
    Thanks for your help.
