Removing paint

I am removing the paint from my 57 Silver Hawk using paint remover. What primer is best to use on the bare metal?

zinc chromate primer surfacer for first coat, then follow with 2 coats of a good primer surfacer to achive a good base for color coats.

PPG epoxy primer, It's been on the 39 F**D coupe for about 20 years. Applied after a backyard sandblast to bare metal. Used PPG for all coats after body work from catalyzed high build to acrylic enamel final coat.

Looks great yet.

No.. It might work,but it is a ready to spray product-I would only recommend a 2-part epoxy primer[primer+catalyst]ppg as sweetolbob has recommended. If you have a local ppg dealer,it won't cost any more for the correct stuff versus this ebay item.

This is highly recommended on many of the paint forums which is why I used it. http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com...ase%20info.htm Everyone has their preference. This worked worked well for me

Try not to get any paint remover into seams, nooks and cranys. It is almost impossible to get out of these places and your finish paint will always bubble there.
