Replacing Wiring Harness - Advice? **update/Help**

    I recently did my 51 commander starlite. Ordered the replacement harness and pulled the dash. I repainted the dash and cleaned up the gauges at that time. It also made it easier to do the interior lights and switches. I still had to make up the short pigtails from the lights and the harness for the anti-creep, but it all worked when finished and I no longer worry about an electrical fire. I got the plastic harness rather than the cloth covered since it is for driving. When I got confused or stuck I just asked here and got the advice I needed. Now there is one more Studebaker on the road.

      OK Robert, per your 01/02/2010 update:

      I noted you need help with the steering column, I think what you need to do is loosen the three bolts that hold the steering gear to the frame so you can drop the column down, then cover it with a thick towel in case the dash drops on it, to not scratch the paint.
