  • How to remove stuck switch bezel?

    59 Silver Hawk
One of the switch bezels is buggered up and stuck. Looks like it was warped or staked by someone using a punch and a hammer.

How do I get it off with damaging the dash?
I am considering a dremel with grinder, but not sure how I do that without damage to the fiberglass dash.

I think if you could get access to the back of switch, you could wrench on the square box of the switch without damage to the dash. Be sure to disconnect the BATTERY!

Or maybe use a metal shield with a hole for the toggle and nut taped on the dash to protect the dash while you cut the nut.

Tried the back, can't get a grip on the bezel. The indents are rounded off.
Thought about vice grips, but I alway mess something up when I use them.
I am going to try the metal shield.

Cut like butter with the dremel.
