    Hi, What is the best way, short of going to a professional chrome shop, to polish slightly faded chrome? What polishes and/or buffer work the best Suggestions are appreciated.

    I've had good results with Simichrome.
    It's no substitute for replating, but it's an acceptable holdover, lasting a few months.

      I hope you're not polishing on a 52. I still remember my dad trying to polish the chrome on his newly aquired 52 Land Cruiser. I looked over at him and he was surrounded by tiny flecks of chrome hanging in the air. In the evening sun it looked like pixie dust, but almost all the chrome was gone from that headlight ring!
