  • Steering column seal

I replaced the Lark's speedo cable so I had to replace the column seal at the same time. (The old one pretty much fell about in my hands.)

I used 3M Strip-Caulk around the column and firewall, but that seal is just cardboard... is that enough to seal out water? Should I do anything else?

(Yes, I know it's ugly... I was going for functional, not pretty.)

The vendor sells the correct foam gasket and inside, rubber seal.

I got those and used them, John. But that outside seal is cardboard.

This will let in quite a bit of heat. Insulate with a ceramic firewall blanket material.
