  • oil pan oil pick up

Working on a 1950 6 cyl and found that the oil pick up stem that goes into the 5/8 hole is too big to go into another block I am thinking about using. The other block has a 3/8 hole in it. Any ideas or reason there are two different size holes.
This stem is attached to the oil pick up float filter that is at the bottom of the pan

Most likely the first engine with the larger tube is a newer replacement engine, not the same year as the current replacement engine, that could also mean an Oil Pan change if the tube length or float changed also.

I would post the STAMPED IN serial numbers from the machined flat pad on the left front side corner of the blocks, and some 6 Cyl. aware member, will decode it for you.

Vance, if you go to your duplicate post and click the trashcan, you can delete it.
