  • Speedo cable frame clip location?

I changed out my broken speedometer cable today and after I pulled it loose found a very greasy frame clip laying on the concrete [|)]

Does anyone know where this clip should be located?

Clark; I think you may have found the clip for the sheet metal floor under the driver's feet! There is or WAS small clip welded to the floor.

You just need to find some way to make a nice gradual "drip loop" in the cable from the Tranny to the frame, and I believe it needs to be secured to the floor about in the center of that distance! You could drill a hole for a small #8 or 10 screw and nut with a clip under it for a tie wrap or some kind of small clamping device.
You really do not want it secured tight, just supported. [^]

Thanks Rich. I'll look for that welded clip. The one I found was one of the push-in types, like are used for holding brake or fuel lines to the frame.

Look for a CLEAN spot on the floor since the clip brought the dirt and grease away with it.
