Have a 170 six- main rear seal and oil pan gasket leaks. Have been told to remove motor and tranny but don't have a hoist Is it a major pain to do this in car? Appreciate anyones feedback. Thanks! gregg

Don't know how the 6 is, but in a V8 it's not too bad. It's about the same in the car as out except that everythings upside down, oil drips in your face, the gaskets don't want to stay where they are, etc. As long as you don't have to remove the crankshaft you should be fine. If you have to remove the crank your better off removing the engine. Also there is a lot of room under a C body so you don't have to worry about removing anything but the oilpan.
