In the Engine Section of the Stude. Chassis Parts Catalog, Picture # 107-7 is the Piston Tapered Lock Screw part # 197299 for Champion 6,= 3/8 X 24 X 1 11/16".
For all V-8's 529348,= 3/8 X 24 X 1 27/32"

You do not have the Chassis and Body parts Catalog and Shop Manual? They are a must have for Studebaker owners. Most of us Studebaker Vendors at studebakervendors.com have the screws and also Manuals in book or CD ROM form.

Thanks for the info. This is my first rebuild of a Champion engine. It will be going into a 1950 business coupe. I belong to the SDC and have done a V8.
