  • R2 Hawk Filter Canister Measurement Question

I am mounting my R2 Filter Canister on a fender skirt that has never had the canister bracket mounted on before. With the canister mounted on the bracket how far away does the canister sit from the radiator bracket mount?

I borrowed this from a post over on the General Discussion page. Not much help, I would contact JDP or look at his website to see if he can help.

You might want to look at the pictures under "R2 GT Hawk engine detailing finished" that I posted some time ago.
Maybe something there that could help.

        Terry,

I have looked at the pictures that you sent me about a year ago but all of the pictures give me a generalidea of where to mount this bracket. I would like to know where the factory mounted the canister.

Here is my air filter canister. How far away does it mount from the rad support?

I would like the dimensions to mount this canister accurately as the factory did. I've taped off the fender preparing to drill the fender.

How far away is the top hole from the dumb end of the tape measure? And from the top of the fender?

        What about the bottom hole?

And from the bottom of the fender?

        Your help is alway appreciated.

        Allen

I'll measure it tomorrow unless this will do.

This is Terry's Stienbeck's beautiful R2 Hawk. This picture gives a good side view which I can guess for the set back from the radiator support. There is no clear way to tell the up/down position for the canister.

            John,

Measurements would really be best for accurate positioning. It would be great if you would measure it for me,

            Thanks Allen
