  • M-5 Crisis! Help!

Do any of you guys happen to have an extra universal joint lock plate, Studebaker part #641241. This is the plate that rests directly on the u-joint cup and is held down by the screw lock down plate (#641242). This set-up is unique to the M-5 4 speed transmission with the Cleveland type U-joints. A picture of the part is shown on page 122 of the M Series Parts catalog, plate 09-2 reference number 0901-23. Being the idiot that I am sometimes, I misplaced one of the four that is required on each U-joint and cannot find it to save my life. It is the only thing holding me back from getting it out on the road and enjoying it before the Hotternhell days of N. Texas summers. I will gladly pay for your time, postage and part. Thanks in advance.

I don't have one, Bill - but looking at that illustration, it doesn't look like it would be too hard to make one!

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Bill, have you tried John Brooks? He lives just a few miles south of you in Hamilton.
